Ideas Factory.

So much of my time is taken up doing D&AD (letterpressing) that I haven't had a chance to reword these new ideas... but here they are...

IDEA ONE:
(Themes: Lucky Charms, Objects with meaning…)

Objects can have hidden stories and hold memories for many; from my four- year old cousin who carries around a hair clip because she thinks it’s magical, to the old lady who carries a rock (essentially a big flat pebble) given to her by her late husband. I intend to create visuals around this topic in a book documenting the value of these possessions...

>>> Notes:
- Perhaps...shoes and their stories, where people have worn the shoes
- What's in peoples bags? ... private worlds in public spaces
- Giving something a value through sentiment.
- SHOE BOX MEMORIES... I know so many people that keep odd little ephemera and memories inside a shoe-box... I could make a whole book about this.

IDEA TWO:
LIES
_

Through research into the role of lies I intend to use the results from lie detector to produce a mapping of information graphics documenting people’s relationships to truth telling and exposing interesting facts that people have lied about. As well as seeing how far a few white lies can get people or even myself?!

(This idea stemmed from the fact a friend told me i was a terrible at lying so I was wondering of testing and researching this)

possible themes...

themes I would like to explore:

Identity/ Ownership
Visual Chinese Whispers
Narrative of a process
Meaning placed onto objects
Material culture

3d to 2d MAGAZINE
_

There is an emergence of 3d typography and illustration within design. I intend to explore this by mocking up a new fashion and lifestyle magazine made from an entire 3d content but then photographed back to a 2d form. It will still retain a high level of sophistication but will substitute the role of "3d" type as a static flat form to a more physical form. The magazine will be a modern day renewal of the physicality and textural qualitities of holding a magazine as opposed to seeing a virtual magazine on screen.

PROBLEMS:
*Not ‘live’… Who is it for? ? ? Client?

VERY SUPERSTITIOUS
_

An exploration of the relevance superstitions have in the modern age. Information from research gathered will be appropriated into an innovative piece of mapping on the topic. Objects relating to superstitions will be collected and paired with stylised extractions of the mapping being pasted in public spaces to forward the information back to the public.

PROBLEMS:
* Too much to research and then enough time will not be placed on the actual graphics

--- What if I turn this idea around...
I have always had a fascination with superstition's around objects and the way meaning is placed onto it giving the object a different value... I have collected such objects for three years and have a bag full... Will explore this in Idea One above:
